Get High, Stay High: Vol. 1 is an instrumental hip-hop record built around samples, breakbeats, live instruments, and a lot of the sounds I grew up loving. It’s also a love letter to the hip-hop and weird electronic albums of the ’90s, especially the records that felt like their own little world from start to finish. The whole album plays as one continuous mix, with each track flowing into the next. Inspired by those late nights with friends, passing it around, putting on a record, and just letting the music take over the room. I’ve always loved albums that felt made for that kind of night.
